LA SERENA - VIÑA DEL MAR

An easy day down the Pan Americano.
Some more hard trails are going to be coming
up in Argentina tomorrow and the day after,
so this is basically a make up time run. In the
late afternoon we arrive at Vina, summer
playground for the Pacific side of the Cono
del Sur. Now it's winter though, and a cool
mist shrouds the old Italian style buildings

We stay at the Bernardo O' Higgins, an old
European style grand hotel with big fires going
in the fireplaces in the lobby. The night becomes
the usual party with top civilian and military authorities,
along with the mandatory photo ops and TV interviews.
